How to embed

How to use the Yes or No wheel

  1. Think of a yes-or-no question, such as “Should I order pizza tonight?”
  2. Click Spin or click the wheel itself.
  3. The wheel slows down and the pointer lands on your answer.

To include a third option, tick Add a Maybe slice. You can also edit the entries box to make your own answers.

When a yes or no spinner helps

A random answer won’t make big life decisions for you, but it is great for small choices you keep going back and forth on:

  • Everyday choices: go to the gym today, cook or order in, watch one more episode.
  • Games and parties: truth-or-dare style questions, “would you rather” rounds and drinking games.
  • Classrooms: quick true-or-false warm-ups and choosing whether a team goes first.
  • Breaking ties: when two friends can’t agree and both are happy to let chance decide.

There is a useful side effect, too. If the wheel lands on “No” and you feel disappointed, you have learned that you actually wanted the “Yes”. Many people use the spinner as a gut check rather than a final verdict.

How the randomness works

Many online spinners pick a random stopping point while the animation runs. SpinAndPick picks the winner first using crypto.getRandomValues, the same secure generator browsers use for encryption, and then animates the wheel to land on it. The result is unbiased, and it doesn’t depend on screen size, device speed or when you click.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Yes or No wheel really 50/50?

Yes. With two slices, each answer has exactly a 1 in 2 chance. The result is picked with your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator before the wheel starts turning, so the animation can't be nudged toward one side.

Does the last answer affect the next spin?

No. Every spin is independent. Getting Yes three times in a row doesn't make No more likely next time.

Can I add more options than Yes and No?

Yes. Tick "Add a Maybe slice" for a three-way split, or type any answers you like into the entries box, one per line, such as "Yes", "No", "Ask again tomorrow".

Can I make Yes more likely than No?

Add the answer more than once. For example, entering Yes, Yes, No gives Yes a 2 in 3 chance.

Is it free?

Completely free, with no sign-up and nothing to install. It works on phones, tablets and computers.
